Carnival not your thing? Then get your passport ready and head to Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean where there is something for everyone.
You will be spoilt for choice in this paradise in which you can enjoy multiple experiences in just one day. Jump into the crystal clear pools of one of our 15 waterfalls (Annandale and Concord are popular choices) nestled around the island then travel a few minutes to the coast to snorkel at the World’s first Underwater Sculpture Park. Each statue has a wonderful story behind it. Or you can unlock your senses and admire Grenada’s natural beauty with a Sun Hunters dune buggy or open back jeep tour.Buckle up and zip along winding roads to experience stunning vistas and rolling hills. For an experience that gets your blood pumping, Grenada offers a Highwire canopy zipline obstacle challenge set in our tropical rain forest.
If cuisine is your passion, then a Savour the Spice tour will provide four unique offerings that bring our local flavours and spices to life. You can enjoy the best the Capital city St. George’s has to offer, savour the unique flavours of the countryside, sit at the best bars and meet the locals or learn to prepare an authentic flavourful Grenadian meal.
True Blue Bay’s Resort’s Street Food Wednesdays serves up a colourful and tantalizing offering of delicious local dishes including the signature one pot ‘Oil Down’, Grenada’s National dish. A live band and one love atmosphere complement the meal and are sure to have you on your feet. Foodies can also explore the 300-year-old working plantation, Belmont Estate which is a premier agri-tourism product. Enjoy flavourful meals at their restaurant or take an educational ‘bean to bar’ tour to witness how cocoa is turned into sumptuous spice infused organic chocolate. In fact, Grenada has four other chocolate companies: Grenada Chocolate Company, Crayfish Bay Organics, Diamond Chocolate Factory and Tri-Island Chocolate.
Grenada offers experiences at three rum distilleries in which you can witness the process and taste the spicy products. The oldest of these factories is River Antoine, still powered to this day by a water wheel, which crushes the sugar cane. Add a visit to one of three historical forts in St. George’s and you will be well on your way to learning more about the island’s rich history. If you are craving relaxation/rejuvenation, a quick trip to the Clabony Sulphur Springs is just what the doctor ordered. Step out of the pool with glowing skin, feeling refreshed.
And don’t forget to stop by St. George’s colorful, open-air Spice Market for nutmeg products as well as locally grown bay leaves, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and ginger. Complete your journey by island hopping over to Carriacou and Petite Martinique to enjoy relaxed experiences and connect with the friendly locals. Carriacou offers excellent diving and hiking.
